…what a s__t show…(cont’d)…

A few days later…things are going sideways…

Anxiety is not fun, at the best of times. This last week has been, a real, honest-to-whatever . Without too much detail my symptoms this week have included cognitive distortions, physical instability and many more. Work, as minimal as it is in our region, is once again impossible.

Some of us (your author included) manage to cope, mostly, with the day to day, despite symptoms…the world holds no compassion for many of us humans, ill or not.

None of the symptoms I described in my earlier post are any more severely traumatic than the circular thinking, pounding heart, shortness of breath and pure terror and fatigue from several days of untreated anxiety.

I did say “several days”…many of us experience panic attacks. They are usually short lived, although disturbing. Extended periods of severe anxiety can result in cognitive issues, physical symptoms such as loss of control of limbs and perhaps most well known, the 4 F’s.

Losing so many faculties at any age is difficult; the incidence of PTSD in Canada is statistically on the rise in Canada.

There are programs to treat PTSD…severely limited…more later
